To create a new file:
1. Select the command.
Alternatively, on Windows, click the New Document button to the right of the last document tab.
The Create Document dialog box opens.
2. Select the type of document to create.

Create blank document |
Opens a new empty drawing file. To set your preferred scale, units, and other basic settings for blank documents, open the Blank (Imperial).sta or Blank (Metric).sta file from the template list. Edit the settings, and then resave the template with the same name, as described in Creating templates. Leave this template empty other than the most basic scale and units settings, as this is the only way to open a blank document. |
Use document template |
Opens a new drawing with settings that were saved in a template file; select the template to use (see Creating templates to learn more about templates) |
